Special events happen just once, or once a year, unlike the regular local activities. Events can include campaigns, conferences, network meetings… They bring people together from a wide area, and usually have a special message to put across.

The events shown in this section are organised in different ways. Often, they will be set up by people in other groups, the national charity or other organisations. The description of the event will say who is organising it and how to make contact.

These pages are to help people in North Cumbria find events they would like to take part in, in Cumbria or within travelling distance. Carlisle Branch may also be able to help with transport, preferably by organising a minibus. This will be subsidised, so passengers will be asked for a small contribution to the cost.

If you prefer to drive, and offer others a lift, this has to be a private arrangement, covered by your own insurance. The Branch would not in any case pay travelling expenses for events.
